Confusion Studios Unveils a Major Evolutionary Step:
OSC and AUv3 Support Coming to MIDI Designer Pro X

MIDI Designer launched in 2012 and quickly became a cornerstone for musicians who needed total control over MIDI hardware and software. While the app intentionally stayed focused on MIDI for more than a decade, the time has come to expand. Early in 2026, Confusion Studios will add Open Sound Control (OSC) support to MIDI Designer Pro X. In addition, MIDI Designer Pro X will gain full AUv3 support for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Together, these changes unlock new workflows and open entirely new possibilities.

OSC support brings modern, high-resolution control and network-based communication to the platform. Widely used in performance, broadcast, and interactive environments, OSC is essential to workflows built around applications such as OBS and Gig Performer. This addition allows MIDI Designer Pro X to participate fully in hybrid control ecosystems while preserving complete compatibility with existing MIDI setups.

With AUv3 support, MIDI Designer Pro X can be loaded directly as an embedded plugin within hosts like AUM, Loopy Pro, Logic Pro, and GarageBand. Custom control layouts now function as part of the host session, saving and recalling automatically with each project. This enables cleaner routing, instant setup, and workflows designed around how music is actually made on Apple devices—with no external app management required.

Both OSC and AUv3 support will be available as a free update for all users, including both free and Premium tiers (including Premium Legacy).

“These additions open the doors to modern production workflows while keeping our rock-solid MIDI foundation intact,” said Dan Rosenstark, Founder of Confusion Studios. “MIDI Designer Pro X will continue to be the ultimate controller for legacy and modern hardware, while expanding into OSC and AUv3 to complement the next generation of setups.”
