Hey there, what do you mean by "my presets?" Presets on what? What pedal are you referring to? Thanks.

You need to make a layout for it. It might be very simple (e.g., a program change) but you'll need to get your hands dirty.
Alexander sky5000

and another 12 if I attach a controller

“Four presets, expandable to 16 with a MIDI controller"

I want to be able to decipher the presets - so i can:

1. understand what adjustments can I make and where am I starting from?
2. to send multiple cc's for specific ramping and swells etc

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE MIDIWAN KENOBI
Hey there, thanks for your message. Are you asking whether MD can "read" presets from the MIDI target (the pedal)? Also, while MD can send multiple CCs, I'm not clear on how that relates to ramping and swells (though this might be related: https://mididesigner.com/qa/72/snap-to-value).

Thanks!
So the pedal is an Alexander Sky5000. It’s has a micro usb and I try to connect that with a lightning adapter directly to my iPhone

I’ve been able able to see it in midi-ox but sysex is as far as I got.
which lightning adapter? Apple stuff is extremely finicky like that.
iConnectivity iConnectMIDI1
the MIDI Designer Log doesn't show any input coming from the device? Does the iConnect show up in the Connections tab (in config)?
Iconnect shows
Does the MIDI Designer Log doesn't show any input coming from the device?
So still lost in the maze
I enable the port I  can see the pedal in the rpt live routings
And will be dousing it and myself in gasoline in  10... 9... 8...
I'm not sure it's time to give up just yet. It's more time to read the questions I'm asking you and 1) answer them or 2) ask me what certain things are -- like the MIDI Designer Log -- and we'll clarify. ARE YOU SEEING ANYTHING IN THE MIDI DESIGNER LOG when you connect the pedal?
So I know what the midi designer log is - I guess my message never
Posted. I keep jumping decades so pardon if I assume and or presume
NOTHING IN THE LOG. Oh wait “Welcome to MIDI Designer Pro 2 | Version 2.100 | Build 190326!” is the last number an id?
When demoing “snap to” you say a triple click snaps to the default value
Does that  just mean  12 o’clock I.e. the midi designer default design value  or the default preset of a Connected device?
Hey there. You set the default value on the MD side. It's essentially static from your perspective. Do you have any other MIDI devices to plug in to the iConnect to see if they produce MIDI In the log? Is the iConnect checked in the Connections tab?
Do you have any other MIDI devices to plug in to the iConnect to see if they produce MIDI In the log? No. unless the builtin “Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth” builtin In windows counts?

Is the iConnect checked in the Connections tab?    Also because my pedal has a Micro USB i am connecting it with the basic iconnect  micro usb to usb cable so it’s not showing as iconnect through rtpmidi it’s showing as my laptop name and The pedal is visible in live routing as is the Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth
Sorry, let's clarify here. Are you connecting the iPad directly to the iConnectivity device and connecting your pedal to that, or rather using rtpMIDI and Live Routing? I think that connecting iPad directly would be easier to figure out.

iPad or iPhone, same same
Still, To connect to my iPhone with lightning cable With micro USB which I have as one cables provided by Iconnect. When I plug into the iPhone directly MD Freezes on its welcome page
Here is what I think Dan,
I have to go back to the pedal manufacturer and the controller manufacturer to determine whether or not the device has ability to be read in MIDI Designer - it’s quite possible that it’s their limitation and not one of MD. The only bad news I have for you is that i’ll be back.
There are several ways to go at the same time. For one thing, it's possible that sysex gets filtered by rtpMIDI so that might not work. Any other MIDI device (including sending a message with midiOx perhaps) would help troubleshoot that route with normal MIDI messages. On the other hand, the lightning connector for iOS would be a great thing to test, particularly this one:

https://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W2AM/A/lightning-to-usb-3-camera-adapter

that plus a cheap MIDI keyboard and you can see what's broken. Might lead you to other things like a keyboard career too
