Copies/linked combinations of different types of controls? (e.g. X-Y pad and 2 knobs) - MIDI Designer Q&A

really short comment for now, then I circle back tomorrow or so, hopefully someone else will also add some insight: You cannot currently make copies with different control types. This is kind of annoying (but simpler) because copies are pretty unique in how they work. Other ways to go are super-subcontrol relationships (ideal for XY pads)...

You'll see that if a supercontrol has only ONE sub, the sub will spin the super. So a chain of A-B-C-D... they'll all spin each other. Not true if a super has more than one sub.

So... I'll circle back and answer this for real at some point. Thanks!
Thanks!

So if I understand you properly, I can't copy things per se, but if I set a slider as the sub of a cross-fader, they will both move each other?

For an X-Y pad, if I make each axis a super control for a different knob (one axis per one sub control), will that work in the same way?  Or will that count as a super having more than one sub?
Actions - copy will produce a real copy
Okay, thanks.  I understood that---I'm just trying understand what you said about super-subcontrol relationships and subs spinning a super or an A-B-C-D chain all spinning each other.

I will experiment and wait for you to "circle back" tomorrow.  Thanks!
