There are two settings that might be relevant. One is Bounce Back for Buttons Groups in MIDI Designer.  The other is Buttons Are Send On Only. These are both configured in the Supercontrol Options for the knob that groups the radio buttons...

Thanks for the answer. I experimented with the suggested solutions when you first posted them but without success. I've gone quiet on it for several weeks because I've had to concentrate on developing the device firmware. Hoping to get back to it over the next few weeks.
