Hello, I've got a JX-3P with the KiwiTechnics upgrade. I have an iPad 3 and have installed Midi Designer on it. I'm looking for the easiest/simplest way to design and save custom JX-3P patches via Midi Designer. At this point I can't get the JX-3P to respond to any input from Midi Designer...
I've loaded Rainer's latest JX-3P Midi Designer layout on the iPad. I've gone through the Midi Designer tutorial on connecting the iPad to an ad hoc network on my Macbook Pro (which is connected to the JX-3P via a MOTU 5x5 interface). In the Network settings of Audio Midi Setup I see the JX-3P, and in "Live routings" I tried to go from my Midi Designer Network out to the JX-3P, and I can connect to the iPad network in Midi Designer, but when I move knobs and such in Midi Designer nothing happens on the JX-3P. Is it actually possible to make changes to patches directly from the iPad to the JX-3P or do I need to be interfacing with a DAW like Ableton Live?
I also have an iConnect MIDI, but when it's connected to my computer's USB hub which is in turn connected to the iPad, Midi Designer does not see anything in Non-Wifi Connections.
To sum up-- I would love to be able to change and save Kiwi-3P patches in Midi Designer without necessarily having to use a DAW. Is this possible? And if so, what am I doing wrong? Is there something on the JX-3P that I need to do? Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
