Would it be possible to have a selector switch control?

Could we have a knob that control that instead of sweeping through different values, say 0-127, instead attributed a text to each value so it could be used as a selection switch, say for waveform control. So for example, instead of displaying "1", "2", "3", the user would see "square", "sine", "triangle"?

The answer is currently yes and no.

Button groups do a lot of what you want to do.

At the same time, in the near future I'll be implementing a feature that might be called "dropdowns" or "named ticks"...  this will be another way to do what you want, and probably a lot closer to what you're imaginging.

In the meantime, definitely check out Button Groups...

Thank you for this. This is helpful however I am trying to make an controller for the Waldorf Blofeld and there are 60+ waveforms to select from! However, your "dropdowns" sounds like the real deal - look forward to that!
