*** EDIT *** iPad / MacOS version added April 24
I assume I need to keep the layouts for iPhone and iPad/MacOS in the same PodXT post
Fully functional iPad version and MacOS version of Line6 Pod XT uploaded today
Approx 2.1MB in size. No idea how that compares to other layouts.
0) Complete re-design from iPhone version
1) Complete mapping of all MIDI CC's to the hardware
2) Supports the latest PodXT firmware (c.2006)
3) All Expansion Packs & FX - including Bass Expansion.
4) Does NOT include extra PodXT Pro functionality beyond what is mirrored on the PodXT.
EFFECTS
Each effect category (STOMP, MOD, DELAY, REVERB, WAH) has a dedicated parameter window for each class of effect. In other words, the user will always have available knobs to control whatever STOMP, MOD, DELAY, REVERB, or WAH is currently selected.
The user can activate or deactivate FX from different windows. The parameters will change based on the specific effect you select using the display/hide button functionality.
Fairly granular Hz/ms values covering the available range, as well as specific SPEED/TIME settings for respective MODS and DELAYS
AMPS / CABS
Buttons select the different amp expansions, as well as the specific amp in each category.
The same goes for the cabinets and mics. When a Bass Expansion cabinet is selected, the mic names automatically change to bass mics. (They are the same CC#'s as the guitar mics so it's not much anyone can do if you want a guitar-centric mic with a bass cabinet.)
PROGRAM
The programs are all the same that came with the PodXT and expansion packs.
EQ / COMP & GATE
Equalizer available on front page as well as other tone controls.
Comp and gate settings are nearby, as well as other important knobs you need to craft a killer tone.
PEDAL SETTINGS
All options are there to set your tweak, and pedal fx setting
TAP TEMPO
Button to set up tempo. Just tap it several times for PodXT to average out the BPM.
Do what you want with it as long as you make great tones and tunes!!
***** iPhone Version ****
Fairly extensive Line6 PodXT setup. I'm sure I've overlooked a few things but been working since December '22 on it and quite honestly am sick of working on it. It's PLENTY complete enough for a live gig or tweaking your tone in practice sessions. Pretty much everything is there. Parameters dynamically appear thanks to the 'hiding' function. All expansion packs are accounted for and all factory setting program names are there. Yes, you can change programs as well.
Tap tempo, temp-sync'd rates on Delays and Mods as well as millisecond and Hz (thanks to help from jkhiser of course). :)
Anyway, please tweak, improve, and enjoy. I'll update it once I'm over the PTSD of this first design phase. Things left to do are polish the UI, remove a few redundant things, and port to iPad (redo the whole thing).
Ok so for the features: Basically everything. I need to get the settings for the Line6 Pedalboards worked out.
Amps Page
1) All guitar amp packs accounted for - including the cabinets. Switch between bass and guitar cabinets with the buttons labeled under the cabinets.
2) Bass amps also include the bass cabinets
3) Mics change between guitar and bass amps. They share the same CC# so I don't really know how to improve on that. Room amount is right there with the mic selection buttons.
57 On axis, 57 off axis, 421 dynamic, and 67 condenser are connected to guitars.
47 close mic, 47 far mic, 112 dynamic, and 20 dynamic are connected to bass
4) Control your gain on this page. It has a dramatic impact on sound so it's best to have it with the amp and cabinet selection. It's linked to the other gain knobs throughout the layout.
Stomps/Mods Page
1) Activate/Deactivate with the big buttons.
2) Each category makes their respective model appear and each model makes its respective parameters appear. (I consider CATEGORY to be DIST, DYNAMICS, FILTERS, PITCH, etc. and the model would be FUZZ FAZE, BOSS SG-1, etc.)
3) There's probably a way to do this, but in order to activate a new model, you first need to select the category, then the model.
4) The same thing goes for MODS with the addition that mods have a speed adjustment. Although most parameters have a speed adjustment, I haven't yet climbed the mountain to include the new speed control. I'm working on it now. In the mean time, just use the knob next to the big red MOD button. It will take you from 0 to 15KHz.
5) PRE/POST button will be POST when lit.
DLY/VERB Page
1) You can tap tempo, or select tempo-syn'd or millisecond rates. Again with the MOD page, I'm working on moving everything into the parameters section.
2) Reverb knob is copied to other reverb knobs so you have consistency. (or it will be. can't remember if I did that in the initial release version)
VERB/WAH Page
1) This is laid out like the face of the PodXT as best as I could.
2) I tossed the wah and programs in with this page because there really wasn't a better place to stick the WAH so yeah. Sorry about that.
3)ACTIVE buttons across the top will activate AMP, GATE, and EQ and are mirrored where applicable.
4) COMP, STOMP, MOD, DELAY area also copied across and will show their proper state.
EQ/GATE
1) Turn on the EQ and set to taste.
2) More general EQ settings are mirrored from the main PodXT page (VERB/WAH).
3) Compressor gain and threshold are set as a grid. I liked how it looked and worked. Same goes for the gate.
