Sounds about right, we didn't implement the entire MIDI spec; just the message types (and checksums) users needed, when they needed them. In case we do get a chance to implement, are you on the beta team to help verify and test? (Beta is a separate icon from production MD)
I'm not on the beta team. TBH I don't have the time to figure out the beta team thing. I did go in there but it was all gobbledygook to me and looked very scary, so I ran away! I'm happy to wait for a proper release.
This has arisen because I'm  trying to implement level meters based on the MCU protocol.

The way the MCU protocol implements level meters is through MIDI channel pressure messages. But these are no ordinary messages…

What happens is that the data byte is broken down into the form [0 h h h l l l l] - where hhh represents the channel 0-7 to be addressed, and llll represents level. This is 'channel' as regards the mixer channel - not MIDI channel.

So it would be good to get AT implemented in MD, but I am also going to need to be able to manipulate the data at half-byte level. This is something that has cropped up quite a few times as I've been developing Layouts, since MIDI channel is also held in a half-byte for most useful message types.

It would probably be enough to permit StreamByter to get hold of the AT messages - from there I can convert the data to a controller message that I can use within MD.
Please figure out how to use TestFlight to get MIDI Designer Next. It's a separate icon and will not mess with your production MD. Then we can make changes and have you confirm that we got them right. Here's our non-volunteer QA team -- https://www.google.com/search?q=empty+room -- so we depend on power users like you to cycle fast and get it right. Thanks!
The link you've provided doesn't take me anywhere other than a Google (I don't use Google!) search?
I'll send you another invite. You need to go through the invite.
Just sent you an email. Sorry, the google search was a joke, the sarcasm doesn't translate over text.

Thanks the-elf!
No need. I got in. I can't see my Layouts, so I'm working out how to get them in...

Done. I'll take a look around.

Aftertouch still not getting to MD. I'll leave it now until I hear from you.
We didn't implement aftertouch yet, I wish! We need you set up to test for WHEN we implement. To get your layouts over, Mail them to yourself. Also, it's a great backup.
