Hi Sigglund and thanks for your question. Answers:

  1. I just confirmed and there's no normal way to do this yet. This applies to both 1.4.3 and 1.4.4 (out soon).
  2. I'm going to change this to "Suggestion." It's a great suggestion. There's no reason why the channel needs to be limited to 16 (well, 0-15) for sysex.
  3. I won't actually implement any support for this feature except to allow values up to 127 on the channel changer super. Right now you can increase the max, but it won't affect the subcontrol correctly.

So, in summary, great suggestion-request and it will be implemented soon, probably in 1.4.5 (early Feb).

Thanks and please keep the questions and suggestions coming.

Best!

It's not possible to have more then 16 channels in a midi message because channels are encoded in the status byte but from the sysex point of view there is no limit to what you can do. Only you will have to program the sysex messages your self using the System Exclusive message option.

Yep, read my post again please. This time I actually know that there are only 16 midichannels. I say I want to use it in a sysex and in this case its possible to have up to 7F channels if I want to... Because it's not "Regular" midichannels.. I say I want to program the sysex but I want to be able to use The L value as a type of "channelselector" because then I can get to the audiochannels on my mixer that are over channel no 16. I need the V value for the data bytes in the sysex message. And I dont want to make 32 instances of the same controllers which of cause would be possible, but then again I guess that's why the channelselector is implemented in MD the first time. But as you mentioned, cause it's not possible to have more than 16 channels on a regular mididevice, it's has been limited to that. As is the possibility to write "channelmessages" in the sysexeditor as I mentioned in an earlier question I had. I guess it's the same answerer again although it would be nice to have you "on board" as a registrered user.. And this time I know it's should be possible to do what I ask for. I just wonder if I'm going about this in the wrong way....  =)
Sorry mate I probably did no understand your question properly. I did read all the text tho.
You probably read the implementation chat for your Yamaha mixer so I won't go there either.
Well I actually just record what the mixer is "Saying" in midiox.. And even what Yamahas Studiomanager is sending out... And work my way from there.. The Implementation chart is not that thorough.. =)
Thanks anonymous for your answer. I think the comments here are right on: you've misunderstood the question, or at least in the context of MIDI Designer. Best!
