How can I combine multiple ‘jump to page’ buttons in a preset?

Hi All, of course multiple ‘jump to page’ buttons can be combined in a button group, controlled by a knob. However, when turning the knob, there is no time for selection because once turned to selection the page switches instantly.

Is a preset knob with a recall button the only option to solve this?

Looking for a solution where I can select the page with a knob and then confirm the selection with a button so the pages switches after the selection.

You're well into uncharted territory for us on this one. We just build the platform and then try not to break the thousands of weird edge cases like this that our awesome users discover/exploit. That said, check "snap to value (over time)"... because a knob will snap a button to a value after a delay, and that button could be a jump to page button. Will this work? Is this relevant to what you're describing? I'm not positive... Thx!

Thanks Dan. Somehow, when using 3 jump to pages buttons and a knob as super, one page will not show and the other two will dominate. I don’t get how that works.

Vision: controlling 10 mdp2 pages with a knob and recall or step button.

The reaction of a jump to page is momentary, a direct response. I tried buffering it with a toggle button or momentary button but the first problem is that pages get left out when using a supercontrol knob.

So you want to be able to jump to a particular page depending on the knob setting, or is there more to it?

I’d like to scroll through, let ‘s just say, 5 pages (5 knob settings) and then select the page where I want to jump to. So that would be a knob as super control of 5 ‘jump to page’ buttons.

Send on release only? It is a good suggestion but somehow the page jumps get messed up, see above. It is not hard to create the situation: grab any layout with more then 4 pages, create 4 jump to page buttons, add supercontrol knob, direct the buttons to the pages and start trying. Please let me know what your findings are

Well, obviously it wasn’t build for that (maybe future) and I adjusted my design because of this. Nothing wrong with that, if one direction doesn’t work take another.

Answer:

1. On a left page Create 4 jump to page buttons (for example) and link them to 4 pages on the right side, activate the ‘change on other side’ option with all buttons to keep things simple for starters;

2. Create 4 toggle buttons and make them Supercontrols of the 4 jump to page buttons;

3. Create one PRESET knob and make it Supercontrol of the 4 toggle buttons; activate ‘send on release only’, create 4 ticks;

4. Create a store (momentary), recall (toggle) and stepper  (momentary and supercontrol of preset knob) buttons.

5. Create specific presets.
Preset 1 = page 1 = toggle 1 deactivated and rest of toggles activated;
Preset 2 = page 2 = toggle 2 deactivated, rest of toggles activated.
Etc.

Remember to store the presets with recall toggle button OFF; after assigning all buttons try it with recall on. You can use the knob for switching presets or the stepper.

This should work reliable, probably with 12 pages. Try it!

O yeah, why is this important?
When using a midi foot controller one can access many different kind of pages and once landed on that page you can assign different functions again to the same midi foot controller.
So if you can access a lot of pages your possibilities at your feet pretty much explode
