One X/Y Pad with multiple X/Y choices - MIDI Designer Q&A

This is possible to do using "channel changers." I'll have to work out some instructions and post them here soon. Basically you have a knob which is a channel-changer and supercontrol for both axes. This way you get a unique channel-cc (cc remains the same) for each knob position. Then you assign buttons to control the knob. I'll have to write that up in some detail soon :)
I can get the cc number to change by the buttons and it stays the same while moving the x/y pad but I don't get how to actually then supercontrol the separate sysex knobs.  I will keep playing :)
I just re-read the question. If the sliders really have different sysex ranges, you cannot do this in MD currently. You could make, say, the X parameter control something different depending on the state of a button (by altering its channel) but you cannot have it control something different within MD. For now, this may be a suggestion rather than a question, I think. How different are the sysex sliders that you want to control?

This would be an awesome suggestion, however.

Thanks for the dialogue.
The suggestion could be called "Subcontrols Per Channel." Wow, it's quite doable.

This would be so amazing :) You could make your own Kaossilator! Just to clarify:-

- Each button sets the X or Y grid to control the corresponding Knob.

- Current values are 'read' from Knobs when changing between buttons.

- Toggle 1 and 2 only serve for toggle LED and switch behaviour.
