Thanks for uploading here Gurbz.  I know you have put a lot of work into this layout, great job!
Clean, nice, awesome! Thanks for sharing and happy New Year!
Making plans to start the sysex version
Hi, I'm planning a non primova version. What does this mean? The primova midx-20 contains a MidiBridge which translates sysex messages to CC messages. Primova did an awesome job in compacting a lot of data but maybe the MidiBridge and buffers of the midx-20 limit the response(time) of the boss katana so I'm planning a sysex version.

This will be a different ballgame in the sense that the controllers of the layout will multiply 10 times or more. How do I explain this: the modulation section for example contains a lot of effects like chorus, phaser, flanger, pitch shift, etc, etc. When using the Primova MidiBridge knobs (CC parameters) are being shared with other effects so for example knob 2 of the mod section is the rate knob for chorus, phaser, etc. (Again, very cleverly done.) When not using the MidiBridge, and creating a sysexversion to improve performance issues, all this sysexdata will have to be processed in the layout . So instead of one knob for 22 effects there will be 22 knobs with 22 different sysex messages.

Questions for midi designer team: what do you recommend? Different layouts with different effects? Is it possible to contain all this data in one layout? Only the mod section alone has 35 effects with an average of 6 sysex commands for each effect.
This might be a great use case for StreamByter. Have you checked it out at all?

Thanks!
No stranger to streambyter but did not think of it in this context.
Thx, I’ll contact Nic and will study the forum!
You're aware that we've integrated Nic's SB inside MD, I assume? I'm thinking that it would be a great way to to assign multiple messages to a control. The only way you can do it in MD is via multiple subcontrols, which is cumbersome and weird with the quantities you're talking about.
+ 100 downloads!
Vote 4 me guyz!
Failure to upvote is a common theme on Stackoverflow and here. To compensate, we've thrown you some points, and you've bumped up from 29th to 17th on the scoreboards. We're seeing this layout mentioned on the Interwebs all the time: congrats!!!
Thanks Team Mididesigner Pro 2 for a great product and great service.
Truth is: I would have created this anyway but this is stimulating!

Thx!

210 downloads. What to say?

HELL YEAH!!
But can you also save presets on the Boss Katana? Or just on the Midi Designer app
It’s a time ago I created this one. In hindsight it is best to store the presets with the Katana preset button (hardware) procedure and use the layouts to access the inner parameters fast with the layout, wired or with wireless midi.
