Must I own MIDI Designer to use layouts?

Do you have to own MIDI Designer in order to download/use Remote editor for the Reface keyboards? Thanks in advance!

Yes, you must own MIDI Designer. There are a few exceptions to this, which are the "standalone" MIDI Designer versions. They include non-modifiable layouts to control stuff. 

You can see the full list (very few are 100% free) here. Two of these are for Reface instruments.

Thanks! I bought MDDX1 and MDDX2 a while back and since they are "standalone", that is what confused me. I'm off to by MIDI Designer.

One more question- I just bought it and the price was listed as $24.99, but I was charged $26.99. Is the price on the site wrong, or should I have been charged $24.99?

Which app store? What does it say on your receipt? We don't sell the app. Apple does and they give us a cut. Thanks!

Sorry Guys!

Now that I JUST received the receipt from Apple, the extra 2.00 is tax- which seems strange, since it isn't shown on the site anywhere.

Yeah, in the United States it's customary to pretend the prices don't include sales tax. Examples of this include every store you've ever been to and every online site you've ever shopped at. Amazon, for instance, lists a price, and doesn't even mention tax until checkout. In Europe they see the VAT added to the price when you buy.

To make matters worse, in certain states in the US there is no sales tax at all.

Sorry for the confusion. We're glad that users are controlling millions of dollars of software and hardware (on millions of dollars of iPads and iPhones) using our economical software.
