How to send midi messages from MD based on a midi program change sent from Ableton, or from any midi app?

This may have been answered elsewhere, but I could not find it.

I'm trying to use MD to send a patch or preset change based on where we are in a sequenced song. For example, send a patch change to a keyboard on the downbeat of a chorus (or the beat before). We play with tracks all throughout the set, and I'd love to automate patch change via MD.

It’s complex but not impossible. Basically, you trigger the supercontrol from your external MIDI and it fires a subcontrol which does what you want (e.g., send a global preset or a preset for groups). Start by setting it up in pieces. Google supercontrols and subcontrols, and also google presets for groups. Try this out in small pieces and then wire it together. Thanks!
