Hi there, while this is a valid suggestion, you CAN have button groups control your Presets for Groups. Have you tried this? You've got another question here asking about just that, right?
Actually I've played with both approaches, i.e. Global presets and group presets.  I've put several comments on in the last day or so and I just started with the program so I guess I've been asking questions as I've gone along.

I first tried using global presets. As I said above that was really easy to do. I have 2 keyboards and I want to send 3 parameters to each one each time a new preset is selected.

Works great, easy to do and very easy to make a 20 button array to allow random recall of the presets. In fact from reading the manual and the help I discovered the trick of using a knob as a super control for the buttons so the last one pressed is lit.  The biggest problem here is that 20 presets isn't nearly enough for the job. There are a couple of other things like better control over the saves but it's very cool for a first attempt with a new program.

Group saves address most of the concerns listed above, i.e. Not enough save locations and saner control over writing and add the lovely property that the saves are named.

What's missing seems to be the ability to have a radio button group to select (and load) the preset. I've tried everything I can think of and haven't succeeded.

The purpose of the whole thing is live performance keyboard patch management for a band that likes to change it's set list around during the show. Random access in one button press to load the patch changes for the next song.

I have a lot more to say about all of this, it's something I've done in the past using older MIDI hardware, now I'm playing keys again and wanting to do the same thing in a much more modern way.

Rereading your reply and everything I've written here it sounds like you think button groups should work for group saves. Can you please tell me how to do it? I've tried every approach I can think of and have not been able to make it work.
Can you expand on this? "What's missing seems to be the ability to have a radio button group to select (and load) the preset. I've tried everything I can think of and haven't succeeded."  I can't figure out if we're talking about having a radio button move a Presets for Groups supercontrol knob to a particular value, or something entirely different. Thanks.
We are talking about a radio button group to select and load the group preset, i.e. make a radio button set the super control knob to a particular state.
Okay, in the next day or two I'll work up an example for you and link it here. Thanks.
Hey there, here's an article which goes over all aspects of getting a Preset Group knob controlled by buttons.

Let me know if that helps, please.
