Can I link to an iPad LFO operating in the background? - MIDI Designer Q&A

in How does MIDI Designer work with X? by erikbojerik (250 points)
Great question. What would the envelope follower follow? Audio data?
Audio data would be perfect but I realize this is a MIDI app.  Maybe note number could be used as frequency modulation and note velocity or aftertouch as amplitude modulation...??  An XY controller with FM on one axis and AM on the other....oooohhhh!

A feature-packed modulation block - for example selectable waveforms, multiple LFOs, being able to link LFO tweeks to another LFO etc - could add to the Amazement Quotient.
Very cool. First order of business is to get my own "look-ahead" MIDI loopers (they buffer ahead of the fact) into MIDI Designer. They work right now as a plugin for MJDJ (my open source MIDI transformer) and they work perfectly with MIDI Designer, but getting someone else to use them is close to impossible. But yeah, these suggestions are very cool.

Right now (up to and including 1.4.0) there is no continuous LFO in MIDI Designer. This will happen within the next few months, and will come at the same time as MD gets MIDI sync (probably through WIST and also via MTC).

Yes being able to sync to Tap Tempo and MTC will be great!
Definitely on the roadmap. Well, sync with MTC is. Tap tempo not so much, but if I see that there are no problems with MD being a tempo source, then it'll happen.
So long as MD follows MTC changes (via tap tempo from somewhere else) that'll work for me!
