2015-10-08 UPDATE :: WE ARE EXPERIENCING SOME CRASH REPORTS WITH IOS 9. A NEW VERSION OF PRO, 12 AND XW HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY APPLE (1.7.2) WHICH SOLVES THESE PROBLEMS.

LITE USERS ARE STILL WAITING WHILE THE APP FINISHES THE REVIEW PROCESS.

We've seen this issue on iOS 9 (and perhaps iOS 8, too): this is not supposed to happen.

To get MIDI Designer to startup again, you need to connect to a computer, and then follow these steps:

  1. Open up iTunes and connect your device
  2. Delete config.xml as you see here

  3. The next time you connect, be careful to connect to known endpoints over Wi-Fi. Connecting to yourself (if it looks like a name your iPad has or has had, that's suspicious) seems to cause the crash
  4. This will be fixed in future versions of MD

2015-09-23 :: WE ARE WORKING AS FAST AS POSSIBLE TO SOLVE THIS, SORRY AND THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.

I have two iPads in the house.
One is an iPad mini, the other is an iPad Air.
Both have had the IOS updated to 9.0.1
The iPad mini runs Mididesigner-pro OK.
The iPad Air crashes after loading.
I am assuming this thread is addressing this issue and may help others in this situation?
Many thanks
Rob
Did the Config.xml change work for you?
I have now deleted the Config.xml file as requested, and this has solved the problem. I.e The iPad Air runs perfectly.
Many thanks.
Sure thing. Note: if you use MIDI over Wifi (rtpMIDI), you'll have crashes at connect and disconnect until 1.7.1... aside from that you should be good.

Thanks!
