I'm using an Akai LPD8 as a control surface for Pianoteq. I have presets assigned to the 8 pads, but as they're essentially drumpads, the hardware pad only stays lit when pressed. This makes it confusing to remember which preset is currently active. I want to use MIDI Designer to have the layout of the LPD8 on screen and hopefully have the buttons stay lit on screen after being pressed on the hardware.
I'm still new to the app, but figured out some basics. I know how to have a set of toggle buttons work so that only one stays lit via a knob supercontrol. however, when i'm trying to do it with the controller, my lack of knowledge is hindering me! I've assigned the hardware Control Change parameter to the relative onscreen button. As it's sending velocity sensitive MIDI data, I'm getting confused about how to make it stay lit when I take my finger off the hardware button.
it's difficult to explain clearly but hopefully someone can share some knowledge of how to achieve this if possible. To explain the connections, i have the LPD8 plugged into the iMac running Pianoteq. The MIDI data coming from the Mac is going from my Mac MIDI interface via MIDI Thru software into my iPad MIDI interface. The MIDI data is transmitting fine but I just need some help working with it!
