Display Min max value > 999 with Preset subtype

I have a knob setup as a supercontrol with a preset subtype. I am using 2157 named ticks but haven't been able to set the min max value to a number > 999. Is there any way to do this?

You cannot, so you have to workaround that. This explains a great solution that I came up with (can I say that?):
