Controlling Tempo in MainStage with Midi Designer

Question

I am making a controler for beat drum beat sequences. Been easy enough to set up pads that trigger beat sequences, but it would be great to have my tempo control on the ipad right next to them. I am using mainstage with ultrabeat.

I can easily add a slider and use the defualt options and I get a controler that moves the tempo from 0 to 127. I want a range of something like 20 to 200. When I change the midi settings to 14bit cc and change the value range from 20-200 with clicks to 180 the tempo won't move more than from1 to like 16.

Also think it would be great if mainstage would send what the tempo currently is back to midi designer so they would be in sync displaying the same value. I have mainstage sending to musicIO and midi designer can only recieve if it's not in 14cc. How can you have a range as high as 200 and still be able to recieve midi?

 

Does anyone have any thoughts on making this work?

I don't recall that MD won't receive 14-bit values. Anyway...

What happens if you send the full 14-bit range to MS?

what you're looking at is the DISPLAY min-max, but we're wondering about the MIDI Min-Max and what happens if you send the FULL range of a MIDI 14-bit control to Mainstage for tempo? Right now it LOOKS like you're doing MIDI min-max of 0-1, which should be a very small part of the tempo spectrum. Thanks!
