That did the trick, thanks a lot! I don't quite understand what Bit Changers do, but i hope i'll catch on at some point. I believe this is the only parameter on the D50 that works like this, so i should be good from now on. Thanks again!
Cool.

Bit Changers are used to solve problems like you faced.

In your case you had 2 buttons. That would mean 2 bits and 4 possible combinations with a range of 0-3.

Value 0 = 00  Both partials are off
Value 1 = 01  Partial 1 is on ,Partial 2 is off
Value 2 = 10  Partial 2 is on, Partial 1 is off
Value 3  = 11 Both partials are on

In computer programming 0 means off and 1 means on and that's what those Bit Changers do. Each Bit Changer is responsible for turning one bit on and off. So in your case Bit Changer with Change Bits 0 turns on and off your first partial button. Bit Changer with Change Bits 1 turns on and of your second partial button.

Looking forward to your D-50 layout.

Oh, and please give the answer a vote, so that people can find the correct answer should they run into the same problem as you do.

What you need is Bit Changers. Bit Changers have been introduced in Midi Designer version 1.7.

The steps to do:

- Create a knob K with your midi sysex string and midi min-max 0->3
- Create a button called Partial 1.
- Set its Subtype to Bit Changer
- Make Partial 1 button a Super control
- Make knob K sub control of Partial 1 button
- In Midi->Change Bits select 0 from the drop down list.
- Create a button Partial 2
- Set its Subtype to Bit Changer
- Make Partial 2 button a Super control
- Make knob K sub control of Partial 2 button
- In Midi->Change Bits select 1 from the drop down list.
- Set the knob K to hide in performance
