MacPro w/o wifi + wifi dongle - how to set up with iPad?

Hi Folks

Enjoying the possibilities of MDP, but can't get my ipad air to connect to my 2008 MacPro. MP is connected to my network via ethernet. I bought a WLAN 80.2.11 wifi usb dongle for another program, which worked. Now, I don't understand how to make an ad-hoc connection. The video you provide just shows a laptop with wifi already working...

Any advice welcome!

If the computer and the iPad are on the same network, whether via wifi or Ethernet or a mix of both, it's enough. If you want to use an ad hoc, it's optional: just google ad hoc network in general. Sorry to be brief but I'll be back from vacation on dec 2. Check http://mididr.com/connect also
