Z-Order or Depth of Controls on Page (background & foreground) - MIDI Designer Q&A

Thanks for the suggestion. We might implement something to allow explicit z-ordering of controls in the future. For now, it's not just the order of creation. The last control touched will be on top, regardless of order-of-creation.

Yes & no...
when I re-load my template, all the knobs, buttons & labels are re-drawing, and the last created objet is displayed in foreground.
oh, I've forgotten...
In my example, the button is completely behind my knob, then it's absolutely impossible to touch the button to change the depth of the objects. That's why the creation order is important here.
Agreed. So if you could alter the order of creation, would that be sufficient? Or does MIDI Designer really need a concept of z-order that never alters?
my method is to create my whole page with all the buttons, and then to place objects at the right depth I use the "make a copy" to re-create the objects in the right order. Then I delete the original objects & I place new objects correctly on my page, and I reload the template. It is obvious that if a z-buffer existed it would be faster for creation.

Layering is done and will be coming out in MIDI Designer 1.4.5 (no release date yet, but early February is probable).
