Receive MIDI to determine external software synth controller numbers

Question

I'm building some Reaktor templates on iphone and would like to target and use the MIDI CC #'s that have been assigned in the software synth. How would I tell MD what those are as I'm adding buttons and knobs? In other words, can I toggle a button or move a knob in Reaktor to send the corresponding controller so that MD recognizes the assignment? Gracias!

Yes, there's a LEARN button on the MIDI properties page for each control in MD. Let me know if you cannot find it and I'll provide pics for... iPhone 5?

Thanks. Yes, I found it. Thanks. (iPhone 4S). I also have MIDI Receive enabled. In Reaktor I tweak a knob. Should I expect a new CC # to appear in my Channel-cc window in MD? I think the issue is I don't have them shaking hands. Could you remind me of the link for that explanation? I've got MIDI In and MIDI Out enabled on the Config-Connections page. and, of course, a wi-fi connection. Should there be a virtual source showing up on the config page? Or...?

Hi daniel, yes, either MIDI Designer must see Reaktor (so it would appear as a virtual destination) or you must use MIDI Designer Initiated Virtual Destinations... but in both cases we depend on Reaktor to connect, too. So you might need to do some configuring, and also starting and restarting apps in a different order.

We don't have Reaktor in the studio, but if you cannot figure it out we'll try to get a copy.

Dan, to be clear, I am able to send from my iPhone to my Mac just fine. The way I've been linking buttons in MD to Reaktor so far has been by using the MIDI Learn function for each knob on the Reaktor side - then moving a knob in MD on my phone to make the connection. I want to be able to do it in the opposite direction. So far, my MD knobs don't change in response to changes I initiate on my Mac - only in reverse.
