First off, note that controls on pedalboards act differently than do other controls. On each page change, they snap to the value they showed the LAST time the user was showing that page.

External Controls (usually, Hardware Controls)

External hardware controls will get out of sync with the controls on the pedalboards, especially if you are using a controller that is not bidirectional.

Takeover modes like Pickup are made to handle this problem, and we only support two at this point: Pickup and None.

NONE: The value of the pedalboard control will jump to the value sent from the external control.

PICKUP: Moving the external control has no effect until it reaches the value of its pedalboard control. As soon as they are equal, the pedalboard control's value tracks the external control’s value 1:1. This option can provide smooth value changes, but it can be difficult to estimate exactly where the pick-up will take place.
