Setting up Virtual Ribbon Controllers for Pitch Bend

Hello:

I'm wondering how well the iPad can work as a virtual "ribbon controller" for pitch bends? For example could you use MIDI Designer (or other apps) to set up three ribbon strips:

- one for upward pitch bends

- a second for downward pitch bends

- a third for relative pitch bends (i.e. from the point of contact)

Also, if one can do relative pitch bends, would the iPad surface work for doing a manual vibrato (by wiggling one's finger back and forth)?

The first three cases seem relatively straightforward, but the vibrato case is going to depend on network latency and how responsive you need the iPad to be to call it vibrato... i.e., it's an empirical thing.
