It's a great question. MIDI Designer can controls thousands of things. We don't know Logic that well.

(Sorry About that. figured it out. Rather simple.)

Using the Automation LEARN mode in Logic, I was able to get it to do what I wanted.

It took me a while to figure this out. I too used the learn mode and built a preset for for controlling the Logic ES2 synth - filter cutoff, resonance and ADSR envelope. But I couldn't figure out how to record it. I watched some videos on YouTube but couldn't replicate what they were doing. Eventually I discovered that you have to go to 'Preferences/Automation' and ensure that the check boxes for volume, pan, plug-ins etc are all checked.
