import patch settings from Roland JX-3P (Kiwi3P) into MIDI Designer

Question

Can I import the patch settings from a patch already saved in the synth (JX 3P kiwi) into the layout so I can work on it with all the sliders&knobs showing the current settings? That way I could also store all my patches in mididesigner instead of in the physical synth. Im connected via midi cables to the ipad.Both in&out ports.

As far as I know the Kiwi 3P doesn't have a command like that, where it would send all current values as MIDI CC (like the Waldorf Pulse). It does have a command for sending out all current values as Sysex, but CC is so much more elegant and responsive and is what I used in my layout. So unfortunately there is no functionality like that with the Kiwi 3P! You might want to ask the developer of the Kiwi 3P if he wants to implement it, but from what I understood, there is not much room for new code left, and I doubt that he will sell more units by adding it, so from a business perspective it isn't too attractive for him anyways. But you can always try! I'll back you up if you do :-)
