Thanks for the suggestion... this suggestion already exists somewhere, but it's always good to see it again.

What about a Picker, like the kind that are used in iOS apps normally (and we use in Design Mode)?
I think it needs to be visually simple and act like a fader IMHO. Take up the minimum amount of space, and work intuitively like a fader in that you dab your finger and drag and let go when you see the setting (named tick) that you are seeking.

If you could hide the numeric value and ticks on a fader, you'd have the result I reckon, keeping it as simple as possible. Maybe an option on a fader / xfader...PickList...which when ticked just displays the currently selected value in the border of the control, with no numeric value or tick marks.

For me te best text presentation can achieved with crossfader type controls. I hide the label and make the size of the tick very so that it covers the crossfader.

What I would like is a way to get rid of the indication square which sticks out.

Anyway I agree a new tpye of control that could present text in a paametric way would be more than welcome taking into account how much capable is MD with handling of text rhrough the usage of named ticks.

Yes we both certainly use the same technique to get close, but both dislike the numeric indicator which is redundant in this scenario :)
Guys given there's an Easter egg using 0 in named ticks you can dump this suggestion.
