When do subcontrols spin supercontrols?

sometimes super effects the sub and sub effects super but if I have 'A' super of 'B', and 'C' super of 'B', if I change 'C' it alters 'B', but not 'A'? I thought all connected supers and subs would move but it doesn't appear so.

Subs only spin supers if:

  1. The subs are in a button group or
  2. The super only has ONE subcontrol. 

These are decisions made early on in MIDI Designer and seem to work for most circumstances. However, I'm open to hearing about changes in the rules that you'd like to see.
