Thanks for your question and for using MIDI Designer Pro!

  1. MIDI Designer is fully bidirectional for all MIDI message types it implements.
  2. Please post a screenshot of your layout if you're proud of it. If it could be useful to anyone else, consider sharing it here, please!
  3. We measure wasted time in hours, not days, because it depends on how much other stuff you have going on ;)

Please comment back or get in touch via the contact form if you have a specific problem.

Best!

Hi Dan,

After the flurry of bug reports and freakouts ;-) let me finally say THANK YOU!  -- for killer app, and for your quick replies!

I got midi feedback working, whew!

re: posting screenshots: I don't know if there's anything special about my layout that would be comprehensible without a fairly deep tutorial on my app, but I guarantee you it's the coolest use of your app to date!  Controlling a High Definition, 16 channel computer graphics synthesizer engine...  Maybe I'll post a video later, showing it in action.  And for me, it's a dream come true, I've never gotten it together to make a nice GUI for my system, so I use a butt-ugly, but powerful text-based system, coupled with 2 Behringer motorized slider units, and a couple other little gizmos, all now reimplemented in MD, and much more too...

Going camping with friends tomorrow in the woods of Big Sur, on the coast here in CA, we setup a killer sound system, and I bring an 18' screen with my live HD projections...  That's why I'm all wound up to get my new toy ready!  So thanks!

I'll folloow up on your replies to my other questions soon.  The only one I'm bugged about is how stupid my transport controls look, with that tiny Imoji play button, like a dot in the middle of the button...

Cheers!

Todd
Glad you got it squared away, Todd!

While we don't have Emoji now, there are several solutions which will work quite well, including using standard non-Roman character sets (like Kaanji)... anyway, check it out and use your creativity to work around limitations of the app. The app is moving forward but Emoji might not happen immediately. No reason to keep your layout ugly when there are a LOT of other, suboptimal (but acceptable) solutions. Satisfice!

By the way, it's really hard for me to tell you if it's the coolest use to date. Sounds like the kind of thing that could be demonstrated in a blog article, though. Any interest?

Best and thanks for using MIDI Designer!
Dan
I have same problem: I use MD with Magellan synth app, they have both virtual midi ports in/out, I setup midi port, but I can't update controls on MD when change Magellan parameters...
Hey as77, would you mind breaking this off into a separate question, or email via the App and Config -> Actions -> Email Us? That way we can get you up and running or figure out where the problem is, at least. Thanks!
