Actually running MD as a VST3 would be nearly impossible, I think. What are the interesting use cases that you're imagining with Cubase, for instance?
One example... Being able to edit my MicroMonsta directly within Cubase and my edited patch is saved right there in the song. Of course I'd lose the touch screen, but that wouldn't bother me at all.

I'm just shooting at the moon here! Lol!

Considering MIDI Designer has always been developed in the Apple ecosystem, Audio Units are native thus easier to develop ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not much use to us Windows users, though! :o)

At least VST is available to both platforms.
