Retro-Style LCD Panel

How about creating a retro style LCD panel that could reflect the status of the control/parameter being manipulated?

I'm thinking along the lines of the 2 line LCD's that were a feature on early Yamaha gear.

On a densely populated panel such a feature would help confirm the function and transmission of data of the knob/slider/button being manipulated.  As part of the design process a user could optionally select the routing of information to the LCD panel if required.  There's probably hundreds of uses designers could dream up!

Hi and thanks for your suggestion. So it would be per panel? (right now the panels don't know what controls are on them, but they will in the future)

I would love a LCD panel that would display the Text/Label from any button

so if I have a ton of sounds on a page with very small text...

when I hit one of the buttons/sounds,  

i would see the name of sound chosen on my LCD display in very LARGE font

LCD would change every time I choose a new sound.

i guess this could be implemented with use of SuperControl, if given option to "copy" label text to LCD

how about that?
