This is a performance control for Dave Smith´s Prophet 12. First of all, considering the 4 oscillators, I wanted to have a vector control to blend between them to bring in a bit of SCI Prophet VS flavor. I re-used the vector control from my Kawa K1r layout and re-programmed it for the P12´s oscillators.
Furthermore I added a range of direct controls for what I personally considered he most effective sound parameters.
Then on the second page I took some inspiration from the Reface Robot, which Yamaha showed at the 2017 Super Booth trade show in Berlin (sorry, this is just a prototype, no selling product).
Taking into account the 4 LFOs, I set up a page which allows me to quickly and easily route any LFO to a range of parameters (not the full choice, just a few per LFO for fast access) and set the range and amount. The whole focus is on speed and ease here!
Essential for using the layout is to have an accordingly programmed P12 Program: it should have all 4 oscillators being programmed with different "Left" and " Right" shapes. Other parameters should be set to more or less flat, as you can control them right from the layout: filters, envelopes, amp, character section etc. Anyway the "Robot" will set each parameter you select to a default value, which is somewhere in the middle, to make sure that the modulation will be clearly audible. From there you can set it to anything from subtle to drastically.
