I've spent years avoiding using Sysex... I never fully understood it!

Thank you Dan for this amazing app which has helped me enormously. Within just a few hours I finally "got" what all this Sysex fuss was about ;)

I recently purchased a Roland FA06, and was slightly disappointed that no editor was included... So I've started work on the Supernatural Synth engine - I'll see if I can make templates for the other engines once I'm used to the app.

There are four "Big Pages" Oscillators/LFOs/Filters/Amps. Common functions are available at the top of each page, and miscellaneous functions are on the same page as Amps (as I had some spare room).

I think it's all pretty obvious to use, but if there's any problems please let me know.

All sorted... easy when you know how - Named Ticks Scripts - who would have thought a Spreadsheet could be so much fun ;)

Hi Andy,

I would like to do something similar with the IFX, MXF effects and the mixer view on my FA06. I want to be able to have all these parameters laid out on an external controler or tablet. I was told that in order to fully control the synth I would need to dive into sysex but I don't have much knowledge in it and i dont find any usefull tutorials. Would this app be helpful for me? How have you managed to build this program without fully understanding sysex messages?

Hi Marcool, changed your question into a comment here, hope you don't mind.

While I cannot answer anything about the FA06 particularly, sysex is pretty easy, and the MIDI Designer support team is here to help you with any sysex issues. It's sort of daunting until we figure out one or two, and then it's all just copy and paste.

Hi, I've connected my fa06 to the app on my iPad, but the app isn't affecting my fa06 when I move any of the controls in the app. Is there something I'm missing?

I had the same problem, the solution was to enable "Transmit edit data" and "Receive exclusive" on the FA from Menu > System > MIDI.
