LAYOUT: Yamaha SY77/TG77 Voice Editor by ibo-kai
Yamaha released the SY77 keyboard -- and the TG77 rack-mount -- in 1989. They coined the term "Realtime Convolution and Modulation Synthesis" to describe the sound engine. It's an FM-synthesis and sample-based hybrid that creates amazingly rich, layered and multitimbral sounds.
This Platinum layout is well-thought-out, well-designed, well-executed and brilliant on every level. Master Layout Author Ibo Kai, winner of the Rainer Award for layout-design excellence, goes deep with this layout. He not only shows a particular vision of the TG77 through the layout, but he also provides a particular workflow. And that's EXACTLY what great editor design is about.
We're so fortunate to have Ibo Kai and his many contributions. Some of this others include brilliant editors for the Kawai K1, Yamaha Reface DX, and the Korg 707. Big ups, Ibo Kai!

LAYOUT: Editor for Yamaha Reface DX by helfried
The Yamaha reface DX was released at Summer NAMM in 2015 as part of the Reface Mobile Mini Keyboards line. The reface DX is a modern version of the DX100, which many experts agree is one of the most underrated synths of the 1980s. The reface DX focuses on portability: 37 mini keys, a built-in speaker, optional battery power and a low price point are some of the big differences from the original. And for such a tiny keyboard... this EXTENSIVE, Platinum layout.
We take our hats off to the author, Helfried, for this extensive, bidirectional MIDI controller for the Yamaha reface DX. And like most good things these days, this layout underwent a LOT of iteration. Amazing... lots of detail and precision in this one... check it out!
LAYOUT: Full Editor for Yamaha Reface DX by ibo-kai
Master Layout Designer Ibo Kai brings us his Complete Editor, a Platinum Layout, for the Yamaha reface DX.
Yamaha released the Reface Mobile Mini Keyboards at Summer NAMM of 2015, including the exciting reface DX. DX is synonymous with FM synthesis since the 1980s. The reface DX itself is a modern version of the DX100, which is one of the most underrated synths of the 1980s. Like the DX100, the reface DX focuses on portability. Some things are the same as the DX100, and some, like the built-in speaker.
This editor is the basis for the related performance editor, and includes five pages, including: "Quick Access" Parameters, Operator Controls, Common Parameters, and 2 FX Units, Master Settings, and Util. Like all of Ibo Kai's layouts, it's beautiful, functional, and takes the reface DX to a whole new level.
LAYOUT: Sound Programmer for Kawai K1 by ibo-kai
A full sound editor for the Kawai K1 by Master Layout Author Ibo Kai!!! The Kawai K1 (and K1m for desktop, and K1r rack-mountable) was released in 1988 and is still a well-loved, 16-voice polyphonic sample-based PCM synthesis. Vintage Synth Explorer says, "The K1 is one of Kawai's most economic digital synthesizers in the K-series. The K1 has 256 digital samples of waveforms, 50 of which are from acoustic instruments. You combine up to four wave shapes to create very new and unique sounds. The K1 is capable of very good acoustic recreation, excellent unique synth sounds or at times, completely noisy walls of complex sound." Lots of hurdles were overcome to create this masterpiece, including... errors in the MIDI spec. We are very lucky to have this amazing layout, and aside from how comprehensive it is... it looks great!
LAYOUT: Roland JD-990 (V1.7.0 - 01/2015) by popup
Open up, discover and explore the soul of your JD-990, wirelessly, from your iPad. Create complex patches with ease while manipulating multiple controls and tones at the same time. MIDI Designer's control overlay feature makes editing the JD on a touch screen feel much more analog like than any other editor can.
This layout is extensive and beautiful and redefined the boundaries of what's possible with MIDI Designer.

LAYOUT: Voice Editor for Yamaha DX21 by ibo-kai
The Yamaha DX21 was one of a new, three-strong range of 4-operator FM synths to appear in 1986. The layout author says, "The Yamaha DX21 was the first synth I ever laid my hands on, when I was a young boy (it wasn't my own one, unfortunately). Just recently I found a used unit in really mint condition in my neighborhood and I decided to buy it, mostly for nostalgia. Of course I didn't bother to program sounds on the synth itself, but instead made this layout for far quicker and easier editing."
LAYOUT: YAMAHA CS6X/R by ezb
The Yamaha CS6x (and the rack-mount version, the CS6R) was released in 1999. It's a wickedly powerful (64-channel polyphony!) 61-key keyboard with awesome sounds. It's been called the "best synth for EDM" and boasts all kinds of cool features (filters, plug-in system boards adding new types of synthesis, and more). And it's a sampler! But where this device falls down is in the UI: to say the least, it's "not very user friendly." And this is where EZB enters the picture with this insanely extensive, platinum-medaled layout for MDP2. This layout is HUGE, which shows his dedication and craftsmanship: it spans eight banks (four on each side) and uses almost the full six pages in each bank. It represents thousands of hours of work, so if you dig it, please give EZB some feedback on the Q&A site. Enjoy!
Roland JX-3P, JX-8P, MKS-30, MKS-50 by rainer
An historical first, Rainer's first layout controls many of the most important 80s synths by Roland: JX-3P with Organix mod, JX-3P with KiwiTechnics upgrade, MKS-30 with Johannes Hausensteiner mod, JX-8P, Juno 106, Roland Alpha Juno 1 & 2 + MKS-50, Roland MKS-70 A + B, and the Roland MKS-70 Patch. This layout inspired the entire Community to get to work. It's not just a classic: it's the first Platinum Layout ever, so it's not just a work of art. It's a trail-blazing work of art which inspired so many others. Thanks to Rainer for inventing this activity!
Akai Miniak/Alesis Micron Controller by landschall
Author and Broque artist André Noller (Landschall) explains his motivation for building this MIDI controller:
"As many know, this synth was nearly un-editable (at least for me) because of the missing controllers and the ‘calculator-styled’ display with one (!) endless knob and a few shortcuts to get to the menus faster (but not fast enough if you ask me)."
André worked closely with the MIDI Designer development team to achieve control of every parameter in the Miniak. The Sequential Subcontrols feature was implemented to achieve full control over the Miniak/Micron.
This is the first complete, real-time MIDI controller for the Akai Miniak and the Alesis Micron. The author’s work is aesthetically simple, but amazingly comprehensive and utilizes MIDI Designer to the maximum extent.
LAYOUT - ROLAND FANTOM X Editor by elkbeat
This is a Platinum layout for MDP2. Platinum layouts represent thousands of hours of work and a great eye for aesthetics. If you inspect this layout in Design Mode, you'll see just how deep it goes. This layout comes from the need to control the Fantom XR, since the knobs on the device are nearly unworkable. This layout isn't just an amazing piece of software: it's also an uplifting human story about how to turn a problem -- controlling this gear -- into an amazing work of art. Huge congratulations to Elkbeat on this layout.
Be sure to check out the notes, and enjoy!
Sound Programmer for Kawai K1 for MDP2 by ibo-kai
Ibo Kai's revamp of his own layout, now for MIDI Designer Pro 2! What's different aside from the awesome look with Glow? It's 33% more compact thanks to Picker controls!
Here's the blurb from the other version: A full sound editor for the Kawai K1 by Master Layout Author Ibo Kai!!! Lots of hurdles were overcome to create this masterpiece, including... errors in the MIDI spec. We are very lucky to have this amazing layout!
LAYOUT: Korg MonoPoly VST (from Legacy Collection) by ibo-kai
Another functional and beautiful layout from Master Layout Designer Ibo Kai: this one is for the MonoPoly VST Synth from Korg's Legacy Collection. This layout requires you to use the included CMAP for the MonoPoly.
Roland FA06 - Supernatural Synth Editor by broadwave
A comprehensive and beautiful layout for the Roland FA06. "Roland’s new FA series completely reimagines the music workstation, streamlining it for effortless real-time power, ultra-fast workflow, and maximum versatility"... This layout provides four big pages with common functions are available at the top of each page. Well-designed and functional, this is one of our most popular layouts.
LAYOUT: Controller for EVERY ValhallaDSP Plug-in by deadbeatsynesthete
As deadbeatsynesthete puts it: "A collection of amazing plug-ins that are some of the best effects out there, they also can be played as instruments in their own right. With mouse clicking, you can only get so far....but with Midi Designer, you'll take these plug-ins to places they've never been before!" ValhallaDSP is from the team that is "utterly and completely obsessed with digital signal processing algorithms for audio," and it shows. These plug-ins are loved by musicians and industry pundits alike, but... how can you control them? That's where this amazing layout comes in. Enjoy control over every parameter of every ValhallaDSP plug-in thanks to deadbeatsynesthete's hard work. [be sure to read the release notes for configuration hints]
Layout: Korg 707 (released V1.5) by ibo-kai
The Korg 707, released in 1987, has been referred to as a "Multitimbral Yamaha DX27," but the unlike the DX27 the 707 is a keytar: guitar strap buttons, a 49-keyboard, and optional battery power bring FM synthesis to a new way of working. But like all of that 80s tech, the front panel is awkward. That's where Ibo Kai's layout comes in. It's the ridiculously high quality we've come to expect of this Master Layout Designer. He writes that it's "for sound programming. All SINGLE parameters are covered. Only the naming and write process has to be done on the synth itself." As usual, the layout looks great: amazing attention to aesthetics and workflow. And it's in Version 1.5. [As always, be sure to check the release notes on the QA site]
LAYOUT: Kawai K5000 Macro Control by ibo-kai
Another tiny masterpiece from Ibo Kai! "This layout resembles the Kawai Macro Control Box, a piece of hardware, that adds certain sound control to a K5000W or K5000R, both of which lack those knobs (which were present in the K5000S only). This is purely MIDI CC and I added the Channel selector as well." The Macro Control is a Unicorn in music tech: it's very useful if you own a K5000 or a K5000R, but almost impossible to find. Enjoy this virtual version thanks to Ibo Kai!
LAYOUT: Dave Smith Instruments (DSI) MoPho by deadbeatsynesthete
This layout is designed for the fantastic sounding and surprisingly deep analog monosynth that is the DSI MoPho.
All parameters are controlled using NRPN commands instead of CC values, which allows for more precision and control of more parameters.
LAYOUT: POLY-ANA VSTi by ezb
The Poly-Ana VST by Admiral Quality is an "Analog Model Polyphonic Synthesizer" which first released in 2007 to critical acclaim. From there, it's improved to meet user critique. It produces classic analog sounds "inside the box," and EZB has does the amazing work of bringing this plugin to life with a real iPad UI. The controller has hundreds of controls to access all aspects of this plugin directly.
You'll need to check the Q&A entry to get the mapping file and instructions for install.
LAYOUT: Roland JX-8P, designed for patch creation and live performance by deadbeatsynesthete

LAYOUT: Shruthi by Mutable Instruments (Synth, Mod Matrix, & Grids) by deadbeatsynesthete
This layout is designed for the fantastic DIY hybrid monosynth that is the Shruthi.
The firmware that it caters to is v0.97, as that is the latest firmware as of July 19 2013, and also what is on my unit. I did not include the arpeggiator / sequencer functions on this layout, but I may add support for them in the future. Also, be aware that there were issues with the modulation matrix parameters when live routing via a Mac OS X Network Session. Using http://confusionists.com/software.mjdj.aspx or connecting the iPad directly to the Shruthi alleviates this problem.
LAYOUT : SYLENTH1 by ezb
Another COMPLETE controller by Master Layout Designer EZB to control "the most popular VST on the Planet." It's "a virtual analog VSTi synthesizer that takes the definitions of quality and performance to a higher level. Until now only very few software synthesizers have been able to stand up to the sound quality standards of hardware synths. Sylenth1 is one that does." This layout covers all the bases and reorganized the interface of the synth to make sense in an iPad MIDI controller. Big hats off to EZB for this amazing contribution!
Be sure to check out the notes for mapping the layout to the plug, and to understand the different versions and what goes where. Enjoy!
Glitchmachines Fracture Layout by clif
A replica of the built-in controller for Fracture by Glitchmachines.
LAYOUT: apeSoft iPulsaret Performance Layout by clif
This layout is for apeSoft's iPulsaret for iPad or iPhone. All the available controls are covered, and some of the FX controls have been translated to X-Y pads to open up some performance possibilities.
LAYOUT: Xpressive Keys by ibo-kai
This is an original instrument from Master Layout Author Ibo Kai. Inspired by the Linnstrument and Eigenharp, Xpressive Keys allows the player to play a key and then modify the pitch (slightly) by moving off-axis in the X-dimension. Moving off-center in the Y-dimension allows the user to change the Modulation (usually to alter the sound character). The layout is made to be modified easily by other users in Design Mode: "when you go to Design mode, 2 further controls will pop up at the top left, below the name. Here you can change the function of vertical and horizontal movements on the keys. This will change the whole keyboard (because the keys are all supercontrols of these)"... it's a brilliant and original entry, and opens the door to further riffs on this layout.
LAYOUT: Korg iElectribe Tweak and Play by clif
Great layout for the iElectric for iPad. It also works with the iElectribe Gorillaz Edition, and can even control both at the same time for total craziness. Nice!
Soundscaper Layout for iPhone by clif
According to the author: "This is a master control layout for the iPad app, Soundscaper. This layout takes a "control differently" approach by mapping each of the main controls to the associated parameters for all 3 oscillators. So, for example, turning the Clock knob will simultaneously change the clock speed for all 3 oscillators. I think you'll find this adds a whole new dimension to the app."
LINE6 POD HD500 Layout (MDP2) by fdesnoyers
We're ecstatic to have these Line 6 layouts for guitarists. This entry includes two layouts by Master Designer François Desnoyers: one that "covers all controls defined in LINE6 official documentation for POD HD500 (Firmware version 2.62.)" And another "covering POD HD500 and GR55 MIDI controls in LIVE situation." These layouts get a lot of love from MIDI Designer users, and they look good and make a guitar rig hum. Check the notes for another layout that covers the DT50 amp, also by Line 6.
LAYOUT: Roland D50 (Updated 8 feb 2015: v1.1) by bleunoir83
As the author tells it:
I bought MidiDesigner specifically to make a layout for my Roland D50, because I was in love with its sound but appalled at its controls, and a PG1000 module costs twice as much as the synth itself... So here it is!
- Controls all 313 parameters editable by Sysex, with the exception of patch names
- Parameters with names instead of numbers as values (for example, the PCM waves and bias settings) all have corresponding named ticks.
- I have split controls for the TVA and TVF into basic and advanced controls - mainly because i couldn't fit all of them on one page.
- A Supercontrol page is added controlling parameters on all 4 partials at once.
Amazing, great control of the D50. Nice work, enjoy!
U-He Zebra Keyboard Player by tomschi
The U-He Zebra is a "wireless modular synthesizer [that] combines many different types of synthesis with a powerful modulation engine." It's infinitely expressive, using "pure synthesis [to deliver] more expressive & natural sounds." But how can you control it? That's where this layout comes in: it provides a sensible, performance-optimized layout with presets, a built-in six-octave keyboard, and an arp control. It can even be used with an external keyboard. But the brilliance, as always, is in the smaller details too, like the Global Note Transpose and the use of a separate MIDI channel for input and output. Very smart, very functional!
Chord Player by tomschi
A programmable chord player -- 5 + 1 notes per chord -- for your enjoyment. You can define the "Bass" for Chord, sep. Bass or Arp/Sequencer
Play the Chord with a extern Keyboard, you can Transpose the Output. Read the full notes to understand this interesting layout.
LAYOUT: Clavia NORD LEAD 4 by stashhunter
The first version of the Nord Lead was released by Clavia in 1995. Gordon Reid from Sound on Sound called it, "a magic piece of electronics," and it demonstrated a new type of synthesis -- "Virtual Analog Synthesis" -- to an industry obsessed with PCM-based workstations and samplers. The Nord Lead 4 continues the evolution with "innovative new performance features, advanced layering and synchronization possibilities, new filter types and on-board effects." The problem, as usual, is how to control such a beast? The Lead 4 only has 29 knobs and some buttons. As layout author Stashhunter (Michael) puts it, tweaking on the knobs of the NL4 is "funny" (think "awkward"). So he created this layout, "to visualize the lots of parameters of the complex voices." It's got some limitations -- see the notes -- but overall it's a wonderful way to get some control over this monstrous and amazing synth. We're extremely grateful to our Community and pioneers like Stashhunter for their contributions.

Layout: Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 and the new GliGli OS by austingreen
A beautiful layout for the Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 with GliGli Firmware. As the author says, "The runt of the Sequential litter, first to midi, and never much thought of until.... some strange dude took it upon himself to completely rewrite the os and breathe new life into this old dog." This layout covers the entire MIDI spec, but all testing and feedback help. Thanks and enjoy!

Magellan, Galileo, AUFX, Loopy, Filtatron Bundle UPDATED 4/2/14 by cswinn
This amazing layout is a great example of how MD allows you to combine multiple MIDI targets ("things to control") in one layout ("controller"). Cswinn has invested a huge amount of time on this layout, and it shows. Great choices, a nice visual aesthetic and the ability to go deep and figure out problems make this layout a must have if you use ANY of these targets: Yonac Inc. Magellan + Gallileo, Kymatica AUFx, A Tasty Pixel's Loopy HD, and Moog Filtatron. Enjoy this amazing user contribution!
LAYOUT: editor for Yamaha TG500 by asylum
The Yamaha TG77 is a 64-voice polyphonic, FM synthesis-based keyboard released in 1992. As Vintage Synth Explorer puts it, "Despite the lack of controls, the TG500 has edit capabilities as extensive as the SY-85, and is easiest to program using an external or software based editor."... And that's EXACTLY where Hans Scholten's extensive layout for the Yamaha TG500 comes in. Almost all of the parameters can be controlled with the layout. A document is provided that describes the design aspects, limitations and work-arounds of the layout, so be sure to check it out. This layout is HUGE!

Layout: Ensoniq SQ80 / ESQ1 by andyv
An awesome first layout for the classic Ensoniq SQ80 (and the ESQ1, too) by first-time layout author AndyV. Gold! The SQ80 is a vintage synth first released in 1987 (it has a floppy disk drive in it!) and was the first keyboard ever to feature Ensoniq's "Polypressure Keyboard." This produces channel and poly aftertouch, and the SQ80 has MIDI out so you could control something else with it. But I digress: this layout is about controlling the SQ80, and it's dense and complete. Enjoy, redesign, share!

Layout: Korg Monotribe + Midi = Miditribe by austingreen
The Korg Monotribe -- like just about everything made by Korg -- is an amazing little device. This layout -- the MidiTribe -- is a fun and functional way to control the Korg with a few really cool extras, including austingreen's proprietary "Hive Note Layout." Fascinating, well-designed and useful... not just as a controller for the Monotribe, but as a starting point for other controllers.

LAYOUT: Anushri Synth's Drum Machine by austingreen
I designed a template to manually play or program the Anushri Synth's Drum Machine. The Anushri is a DIY Analog Mono Synth with a great digital drum machine. The kit was easy to put together and sounds great. The drum machine works with a generative drum pattern but can also be manually programmed.
This template makes it easy to forgo the generative drum machine and program beats x0x style, manually hit each drum, and allows for much more detailed control, 15 new controls, over the sound of the three drums parts with parameters not separately available on the Anushri's front panel.
iPhone with EnergyXT2 by mossontherock
According to the author, "The so named Silver Synth layout below was derived from my iPad's larger layout and sectioned into pages. It was designed using a software DAW and soundfonts. I used EnergyXT2 as the host and a number of other VST midi tools with S-Poly-Limiter VST being key to switching voices off and on. All the required parameters have a midi learn function so finding an exact CC number was not important - it just had to be unique and not interfere with any other CC."

LAYOUT: A MIDI Controller for the Roland VG-99 V-Guitar System by erikbojerik
When Paul Hanson took the stage to introduce the VG-99 V-Guitar System at the Winter NAMM show 2007, the audience was amazed. That amazement continues even now. For many guitarists, the VG-99 is the guitar system that showed how Roland’s modeling technology could be musically relevant and even mind-blowing.
But this 8″ by 16″ box with a small LCD screen and a bunch of knobs and buttons is not ideal for realtime control. So, when Erik Hauri became a MIDI Designer Pro user in October 2012, his first project was to make a layout for the VG99. The MIDI controller he created is very pleasing to look at, but even more pleasurable to use. Great choice of color palette, spacing, fonts, and extensive use of XY pads are among the smart decisions that make this MIDI controller work.
We’re very lucky to have Erik bring us this welcome addition to MIDI Designer’s presence in the world of guitar.

LAYOUT: Performance Editor for Yamaha Reface DX by ibo-kai
Rainer Award Winner Ibo Kai decided to make a PERFORMANCE layout for the Yamaha Reface DX, and we're ecstatic to have it! All of his layouts are beautiful and well-conceived. This is a one-page layout but it packs a lot of punch. As the author says it: "While I think [Yamaha] created a great UI for programming FM voices, which is lightyears ahead of the old DX synths, plus you can play a loop and change a couple of parameters on the fly, I found I wanted some even more direct access to live-tweaking several things in parallel."
"This layout is pretty simple, just one page shows all the available functions. It is mainly what you find in the 'FM' keypad of the synth: frequencies, levels and feedback settings separately per operator plus the algorithm select."
So this gives you a new way to work with your Reface DX. Exciting stuff, enjoy!
LAYOUT: SEQUENTIAL CIRCUITS SIX-TRAK by ezb
The Six-Trak came out in 1984, and it's the older, cheaper brother of the Prophet 5, darling of 1970's rock. The Six-Trak is a fully analog synth, one of the first multi-timbral synthesizers and MIDI. But its coolest feature is an on-board six-track digital sequencer, which is why it's called Six-Trak.
EZB -- one of the most prolific MIDI Designer layout authors -- made this wonderful little layout for the Six-Trak sight unseen! This is an amazing feat. If you have a Six-Trak please let the author know how it goes (reports so far are very positive). Enjoy!
LAYOUTS: Source Audio Manta Bass Filter and Bass OFD by adamixoye
Our users continue to surprise us with new gear and new layouts. Source Audio gear is well-known and well-respected, and these two pages pack a lot of control in a small space thanks to Named Ticks. The front panel on both of these effects pedals is quite nice, but... pedals go on the ground!
The Source Audio Manta "features 12 finely crafted filter effects plus eight variations of distortion.. [they] are not just crunch, or amp simulation; they are specifically designed to work in tandem with the filter effect selections. The pedal’s filters are controllable by its 2 envelope followers, or sine, square, and saw tooth LFO." And it's controllable via MIDI via the Soundblox HUB (which is how adamixoye gets control).
The OFD Bass microModeler "packs a comprehensive, low-end enhanced collection of new and vintage overdrive, fuzz, and distortion tones into a single stage-ready stompbox perfect for bassists of all genres." Like the Manta, it's also controllable via MIDI via the Soundblox HUB.

Layout: Kawai K1r Vector Control by ibo-kai
As the author tells it:
This is a layout for live control of the Kawai K1r.
As the rack version of the K1 lacks the vector stick, which you find on the keyboard and the desktop module (in both cases it does neither send nor receive MIDI control), I was looking for a way to get this function from MIDI Designer.
And I got it to work in this layout. The advantage here to the actual vector stick on the K1 is, that this is MIDI sysex, so you can reord it in your sequencer!
I also added 2 knobs to control the amplitude modulation, one for sources 1+2, another for 3+4. For both you can switch it on, off and to reverse mode.

Layout: Cheetah MS6 (MAAD 1.3 fw) Editor by joelbrave
Towards the end of the eighties, the British company Cheetah released their finest, the MS6. It's a 6-voice polyphonic/multitimbral analog synthesizer in a single-unit rack module. It has two digitally controlled oscillators per voice (12 DCOs) to provide better stability, and they sound surprisingly warm and musical. It's got the same sound chips (CEM 3396) as the Oberheim Matrix 6/6R and Matrix 1000 but the MS6 is multitimbral! Get creative with layering patches for ensembles or Trance heaven! Hidden within this little unit are some wonderful string, bass, lead, voice and percussion sounds!
This editor for MDP2 is mostly done except for bank/patch and multitimbral support.

LINE6 DT50 LAYOUT MDP2 by fdesnoyers
The Line 6 DT50 212 Guitar Combo Amp is an awesome piece of gear: it has "an amplification system that is able to configure and adapt its analog components and digital modeling in real time. This means that when you select a model, the DT50 Amp instantly reconfigures the tube power section to provide the optimal tone. The digital section monitors the tube power section and can adjust the DSP in real-time." However, controlling it is a beast... before Master Layout Designer François Desnoyer created this powerful MIDI Designer layout. It's been completely refactored for MDP2 to have only two pages and 72 controls, but don't underestimate this one: it packs a wallop. The version before MDP2 required 6 pages and 227 controls!

LAYOUT: Korg Polysix VST (from Legacy Collection) by ibo-kai
Hot on the heels of his MonoPoly VST release (and borrowing elements from it), prolific master layout designer Ibo Kai releases this simpler controller for the Korg Polysix VST (from the KORG Legacy Collection Special Bundle). The Polysix VST is a 32-voice, digital remake of this analog synth released in 1981, and this layout will let you access all exposed parameters. The layout is simple as the VST allows for limited control, but it's well-made and useful. Enjoy!

LAYOUT for PODHD500/DT50/GR55/NOVA System/NOVA Drive/GR55 (MDP2) by fdesnoyers
Mixing and matching gear is essential for getting a guitar rig that reflects your individual style and sound. For a guitarist, matching the Pod HD500 and DT50 from Line 6 with the TC Electronic NDR-1 NOVA Drive and the Roland GR55 makes a lot of sense. Hence this layout by Master Layout Designer François Desnoyers. It's completely revamped for MDP2 to use just two pages, but it packs a huge punch. We're very lucky to have it!

Korg Volca Series by louisb
Three layouts for the Volca Series by Korg. In these three layouts, LouisB manages to control most parameters of the Volca Keys, Volca Bass and Volca Beats. The Volca series is pretty amazing. To hear Korg tell it: "Following in the footsteps of the monotron, monotribe, and MS-20 Mini analog synthesizers, Korg announces the Volca series. Volca is a new lineup of EDM production tools comprised of three distinct models: the Volca Keys lead synthesizer, the Volca Bass synthesizer, and the Volca Beats rhythm machine. These powerful and fun-to-use true-analog devices deliver a diverse array of fat sounds that can be obtained only from an analog synthesizer." And amazing isn't amazing without control... hence these three awesome layouts!

Etch A Sketch by clif
Clif did a ton of small but complete layouts in 2015. This one is just a fun concept: "This was just a fun little layout idea I came up with. It's a simple general-use X-Y control. The knobs are supercontrols for the X-Y pad, so turning them moves the lines around on the "screen". The CC's are mapped to the defaults for filter resonance and cutoff, but of course you can map them to whatever you like."
It's one of the few layouts ready for MIDI Designer Limited, for those users who still haven't upgraded to MDP2. Enjoy!

Layout for DSI Desktop Evolver by sebber
Author's notes: "Dave Smith invented MIDI back in 1983. In 2002 he came back with his own firm, Dave Smith Instruments and the first synth was the Evolver Tabletop synth. It's a mean machine with a brute sound and it's one of my favourite synths ever. The MIDI controls are rather reduced, e.g. there's no way to control modulation targets of even LFO. Anyway, maybe this is better than fiddling with the knobs." Enjoy!
